 Parenting styles have a big influence on how kids grow up to be adults, and that has a big impact on their future success.


In Ghana, where I grew up, typical parenting techniques include rigorous discipline, tough love, control, and instilling a sense of accountability and dedication in household tasks.

Respect and tradition were emphasized heavily. It was unavoidable to show respect for individuals in positions of power, such as parents and anyone older.




Ghanaian parenting has changed over time, and today's parenting appears to be more relaxed.

In Ghana today, parents are frequently more tolerant and gregarious than they were when we were kids. Nowadays, there are more conversations between parents and children, in part because the average adolescent expects it.


Poor parenting decisions made on a regular basis can have a long-term negative influence on a child's development and well-being.


Understanding and recognizing poor parental decisions can help parents make the best decisions for their children.
