 I was Jailed Aged 20 Yrs For Killing my Boyfriend, He Cheated With my Sister Lady Confesses



A lady by the name Jackline Makena has narrated a sad story of how she found herself in jail at a very tender age. Jackline is from Meru county and she is currently serving a ten years imprisonment at Lang’ata Women’s prison.


According to her story, Makena was sentenced for a ten years in prison back in 2018 after the court found her guilty of killing her boyfriend. Jackline says that she blames herself for not adhering to her mom’s instructions who had warned her of the relationship with this guy.


She says that she dropped out of school while in form two and she came to Nairobi to search for a job. One day she decided to go for a holiday back in the village and this is when hell broke loose. Makena found her longtime village boyfriend cheating with her younger sister and according to her, the pain was too much to bear.


In the evening, she decided to go to a local pub to take some shots of alcohol so as to relieve the stress that her boyfriend had caused her. While drinking, the guy appeared and he started begging for forgiveness. To avoid confrontations, Jackline decided to move to another pub alone


A few minutes later, the boyfriend followed her and now this time he was holding a knife. The high tempered guy demanded that Jackline had to accept him failure to which he would stab her. It is at this time that they started pushing each other and Makena managed to snatch the knife from the boyfriend.


Due to the influence of alcohol, she went ahead and stabbed him killing him on the sight. It is this incident that led to Jackline being jailed at Meru prison where she rejoined primary school and did KCPE where she passed well.


Jackline was then transferred to Lang’ata prison to pursue her secondary education and she is currently in form one. She says that she has tried to reach out to his boyfriend’s family for forgiveness but they have refused to forgive her


Makena says that the events of that night would have in either way resulted to death because the guy came with intentions of killing her only that she managed to defend herself. She is also currently composing gospel songs.
