Did you know about a Greek Orthodox monk known as Michael Tolotos passed away in 1938 at the age of 82 without ever setting his eyes on a woman. It looks like a joke, right? This monk's story is not often talked or written about and that's why it's very rare to find it on the social media. The story is also hard to find in books and newspapers. According to reports that was traced States that Michael's mother died just 4 hours of his birth back in 1854. But, after the death of his mother he was abandoned at the steps of a monastery atop Mount Athos. He is said to have been abandoned because nobody came ahead. He was later adopted by the monastery and he was named Michael Tolotos by the monks.

What's shocking is that he was bred and educated in the monastery that were walled. He never even once ventured outside the gates of the monastery even once in his life. Setting his eyes on a woman was not possible because of the existence of a law that was passed in 1060. The law banned any female and animals from Mount Athos. The law is still there till date. Michael never had any encounter with any woman and never had any encounter with the outside world. He died in 1983 at the age of 82 without having any knowledge about the physical appearance of a woman. It's only male tourists who are allowed to visit the place today. The monks are not allowed to fight, shave, argue or ask what lies beyond the walls of the monastery.
